Simple Elderberry Syrup

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup whole dried elderberries
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • honey to taste

Method
 

  1. Bring water and berries to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Reduce heat to low and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Simmer for 45 minutes.
  3. Let it cool. Then, strain out the berries using a wire mesh strainer.
  4. Add honey to desired sweetness.
  5. Transfer to a glass container and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

* To make it in an Instant Pot, put berries and water in pot and cook on manual setting for 20 minutes.
